Debra Mayo LPC, Clinical Director

Debra Mayo is a dedicated mental health professional and the Clinical Director at Home of Grace Counseling. Specializing in trauma therapy, she is a Certified Trauma Professional and EMDR Therapist, offering evidence-based treatments for individuals struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. Having personally experienced trauma, Debra understands the profound impact it has on mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Her deep Christian faith serves as the foundation for her work, helping clients find hope, healing, and renewal through Christ-centered counseling.

Suzanne Williams is a mental health therapist with a background as a registered nurse, specializing in trauma therapy, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders. As a combat veteran, she has extensive experience working with fellow veterans and first responders. Suzanne’s deep Christian faith guides her work, helping individuals heal through evidence-based therapies and biblical principles.

Nuwen Arias is a dedicated social worker with over 15 years of experience working with child victims of sexual abuse and trafficking. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and is completing her master’s, focusing on trauma interventions and counseling. Nuwen and her husband are active church planters, serving the Hispanic community in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Ted Gutierrez, Director of Outpatient Services, has over 30 years of diverse healthcare experience, beginning in emergency medicine. His deep faith in Jesus Christ inspires his commitment to biblical counseling and community service. Ted leads Home of Grace Counseling with a vision of becoming a premier organization in faith-based mental health support.

As a combat veteran, Suzanne deeply understands the unique challenges faced by veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders. Her personal experience allows her to connect with clients on a profound level, fostering trust and resilience in those who have served.

Rooted in her deep Christian faith, Suzanne integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches with biblical principles to promote lasting healing and restoration. Her passion is to help individuals regain hope, rediscover purpose, and walk in freedom.

Nuwen Arias Intern MSW, Counselor

Nuwen Arias is a compassionate and caring social worker with a deep commitment to delivering changes to individuals and communities through implementing clinical interventions and biblically based principles. Nuwen holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida International University and is completing her master’s degree at Grand Canyon University, with over 15 years of experience working with children’s victims of sexual abuse, trafficking, and their non-offended families. Nuwen has demonstrated exceptional expertise in case management, trauma interventions, counseling, and advocacy.

Nuwen is married with three children and currently working with her husband as church planters. They are partnering with Highway Baptist Church and Iglesia Experimenta Vida to reach out to the Hispanic community in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Ted Gutierrez, Director Of Outpatient Services

As the Director of Outpatient Services at Home of Grace Counseling, Teodosio (Ted) Gutierrez boasts a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in the healthcare industry. Ted’s extensive experience encompasses various roles within healthcare, providing him with a diverse and comprehensive understanding of its different facets.

Commencing his career in emergency medicine, Ted served in the emergency department and on ambulances in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, gaining invaluable experience in point-of-care and emergency response. His professional journey has been marked by a trajectory that includes roles in case management, showcasing his versatility in navigating the complexities of healthcare leadership.

Ted is uniquely equipped to lead Home of Grace Counseling towards becoming a premier organization in Biblical Counseling. His deep and abiding faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has been a guiding force throughout his professional and personal life. Ted’s commitment to his faith is succinctly captured in the following scripture:
